The Network Marketing 80/20 Rule Is Alive & Well
Network marketing tips come thick and fast when you ask for them as everybody these days wants to be an expert. For example, just take a look at the network marketing blogs on the internet now compared to five years ago.
We can thank people like Ty Tribble and Ann Sieg for kick-starting the network marketing online boom but the truth is, those who have taken action and built blogs are moving forward in their business.
When I first spoke with Ann Sieg several years ago she touched on the 80/20 rule that applies in life where twenty per cent of the people will do eighty per cent of the work. It’s funny isn’t it, whatever you get involved in it’s always a small percentage of people who seem to produce the bulk of the work and results.
I remember being involved on a sporting committee back in the 1980s where there was about 12 people voted on to oversee the day to day running of the club. You can guess what happened, only two people really did anything such as organizing events while the others were there for the ride and the prestige.
In fact, I still think 20 per cent is a little high. I think it’s more like the 90-10 rule. It’s the same with your network marketing business. A small number of your sign ups will take the initiative and run with the business.
Now if you can understand this then believe me, a lot of the frustration you have with the business will disappear. There is no way on God’s Earth that you are going to sign up 100 people and 90 of them will build the business. If five do, you will be on good terms with yourself.
That’s just the way it is so don’t “beat yourself around the head” if you sign up ten people and no one does anything. Odds are that the next two people you sign will be winners.
I came across this article at BetterNetworker.com which I wanted to share. It talks about the 80/20 rule in network marketing and offers some good observations.
Enjoy!
