Is The Marketing Killing Your Networking Business?
One of the biggest dangers in network marketing today is people are spending too much time worrying about the marketing rather than the networking. And it’s easy to understand why.
Look, this is not meant to be a rant but network marketing is a people business and you need to be talking to people in order to get your message across. Sure, tools like Twitter and Facebook are a great way to get messages across to people but unless you are sponsoring people and selling products then you will soon get fed up with the tweeting and posting.
Here’s what’s happened and we’ve mentioned this many times before. The internet has provided network marketers with the supposed way out, that is, to skip having to talk to people.

Are Your MLM Recruits Ready For Battle?
MLM recruiting is tough enough but when people join your network marketing business and then drop out a month later it’s a “hard pill to swallow.” Why did they drop out? Most likely because they weren’t ready for battle.
The worst thing you can do is send an MLM recruit into the field of battle unprepared because whatever enthusiasm they have at this stage will most likely be shot down in flames and usually by the people who love them most. It’s one of the anomalies of an industry that is a sticking point even for successful MLMers…the picture painted to new MLM recruits is a bright one and they are promised plenty of training but it’s the wrong type of preparation.
Imagine a NFL rookie being thrust into the tough world of football without protective pads and a helmet and is told to just get out there and “do your best.” It wouldn’t be long before he was being stretchered off. He wasn’t told it’s brutal out there on the field and there are people out there who want to hurt him. He wasn’t prepared mentally for the experience and couldn’t prepare himself for the inevitable knocks.
That’s pretty much how it is for the majority of MLM recruits. They are not put through extensive pre-season training like NFL players. They are very much under-prepared for the field of battle. Just look at the scary drop-out rate. But you can put the brakes on this big drop-out rate in the first three months by preparing them for what to expect. For example:
- Don’t paint a pretty picture for them and let them know it’s going to be tough and they’ll be rejected lots of times
- Let them know it’s most likely their family and friends who’ll be hardest on them
- Train them thoroughly on how to handle rejection and sometimes ridicule
- Be there for them always until they can walk on their own
MLM recruiting can be tough but when you get someone to join your business make sure they know what it’s going to take to build a business. Make sure they are prepared for battle.

Social Networking Tips For Business – Stop Selling On Facebook!
Ever gone to a social function and met that person who only wants to talk about what they do, how ell they do and how much they make? You know the person, they take their job with them wherever they go.
Social networking sites are much the same. I get asked all the time “can you give me some social networking sites for business”. You see, many network marketers don’t seem to understand that these arenas are not to be used as pitch-fests. Many will salivate when they first go to a social networking environment and start to talk about their job.
You know what happens most of the time? They get booted out by the admin of the site for soliciting or they simply get ignored or blacklisted as a spammer.
Ouch!
Don’t worry, I made the very same mistakes but you don’t have too. Even if you’ve tried it before the following simple tips will turn things around for you. Trust me.
4 Social Network Tips For Business
1. As a network marketer and business person, you need to brand yourself so always post your photo and real name. It’s good manners and you’ll immediately start lowering people’s defenses.
2. You need to shown a strong interest in others and what they do. Ask questions.
3. When you get around to talking about yours truly then for the majority of the time talk about your interests i.e. food, fun, family and hobbies.
4. When it comes to business offer value first all the time. Send people to valuable content you know they’ll be interested in. You’ll know this because you took the time to get to know them. Let your opt ins and autoresponder be your salespersons. The people on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, My Space etc. should never be used as hard core sales targets.
Network Marketing Tip – Are You Suffering From Vegas Syndrome In Your Network Marketing Business Online?
Whether you’re working your network marketing business online or offline, unless you’re taking action to move your business forward nothing will happen. That’s a given. But let’s distinguish between what action really is.
Today’s network marketing tip will focus on what real action really is. If you get anything out of today’s post it’s that action can often come disguised in several forms but there really is only one type of action which counts – that which directly affects the bottom line in your business.
So my question to you is – are you a network marketer yet? You see, simply joining a business and then tip toeing around what really counts and that’s putting people in your business, does not mean you have a home business.
In other words, there is a difference between being a consumer of information and a real, honest to goodness business builder. And the truth is, most people fall into the category of being consumers of information.
