Network marketing is a passionate industry; people are so loyal to their own companies to the point of being blinded to the reality that they are not making any money. Yet they continue to plug on hoping to land that special sign up who will explode their business.

Ann Sieg touched a few nerves several years ago when she released her now famous report The 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing which said what many wanted to say.

What hurts network marketing is the fact that too many people are encouraged to sign up on the promise they’ll make money without the explanation that they have to work hard to build a business; and they’ll probably be “in the hole” for several months before they start seeing any returns.

I love network marketing but know that it’s tough. To use a famous Australian expression…”it’s hard yakka.”

But it’s still a great business to be in. If only people could tell their prospects the truth instead of conning them into something without even knowing what they really need. Look at the statistics…more than 90% quit after three months.

Make no mistake…you can make a good living with network marketing but it’s no “picnic in the park.”

Jeff Wisuri just released a video rant which resonated with me and I want to share it with you. Jeff also has a blog at JeffWisuri.com.

Jeff will probably touch some nerves here but sometimes you need to hear it like it is. Look at this as more of a reality check and if you are struggling with your business then use this a motivation to make it work rather than a reason to quit.

Wow, I can imagine I’ll get a bit of heat on that one but stick with me here for a moment. One of the biggest peeves I have with the network marketing industry is this notion that having a job or a J.O.B. is a bad thing. It’s not. Ann Sieg published a classic free report called the 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing several years ago detailing some of the myths about network marketing you need to know about.

The “no job” angle should be added because it should never be thrown at people as a reason to join an MLM business. Sure, people hate their jobs in the main or should I say, they hate the travel and the environment more than the actual job itself.

But think for a moment, you are prospecting someone who is barely making ends meet and their job is basically keeping them from getting on the wrong side of the ledger. How would you feel if you told them you have an opportunity for them to leave their job and they did and then six months later, for various reasons, they became one of the 95% of people who fail at network marketing. They would be “up the creek without a paddle.”

Cathie Heath at CathieHeath.com has recorded a brilliant video on the topic of network marketing and J.O.B.’s.

She says…”However, there’s a tragic way of thinking in the network marketing industry that can cause people to think of themselves as failures, ruin lives, etc…..Don’t fall victim to this mindset…and please, don’t perpetuate it…..”

Again, she may take a little heat for saying it and I recommend you watch the video and really get the message behind what she is saying.

One of the things Google likes to see is interaction on your site. With blogs, this is vital. Get people interacting and you have gone a long way to solving the problem of how to make money off blogging.

How?

When people are commenting on your blog it means they have been moved enough by your content to leave their view. You see, it takes quite a bit of effort for someone to go to the trouble of leaving a comment on a blog. Seriously, it does. But if you give someone content, either value-driven or making a point that hits the right buttons then they will more than likely interact.

And you had better make sure you respond to nearly every post left by visitors. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a positive post or responding to criticism, you need to be seen as listening to your audience. If you just thank the people who leave a positive post and ignore those who maybe want to debate what you wrote, you could be seen as being a little weak and this can affect visitor numbers to your blog.

Bloggers who do this are also identified as hard core marketers who are really only after the sale. It’s almost “used car salesman like” and I apologize to used car salesmen, no offense.

Remember we said Google likes to see interaction on your blog? They also like to see a variety of backlinks to your site. It’s great having people interact on your site but if you want to develop your brand and reputation you need to visit other blogs within your niche and do the same.

To find them simply go to your Google search box and type either blogs mlm or blogs network marketing or mlm blogs or network marketing blogs. Go through them and make a list. I usually like to visit at least one of these blogs every day and leave a value-added comment.

When I say value-added, I mean it. In other words, read the post and add your thoughts to it. Don’t just say “Great post!” Write at least three sentences. When your comment is approved, you have got yourself a link back to your site and when you get these from authority sites, Google takes notice.

Just remember, when you are seen as a value-giver, figuring out how to make money online with blogs becomes a heck of a lot easier. Trust me.

In the previous post, we looked at utilizing some bookmarking and web 2 strategies which are excellent for getting your post indexed. Now let’s take it a step further and ping our RSS feeds.

RSS feeds in a nutshell, are web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works such as is the case with blogs and are a powerful way to share you content. So let’s get started.

Make Money Off Blogs With RSS

#1. Isolate your RSS feed on your blog. You can do this by either clicking the red RSS icon in your browser or simply putting the word feed at the end of your domain name. For example, www.yourdomain.com/feed

#. Use a service such as Ping.In or Feedping and ping your blog post. Include the RSS feed.

#3. Grab your Twitter, Clipmarks and Stumbleupon entries and ping those too including the RSS feeds for each.

#4. Now go to RSSMIx and add each of your RSS feeds from your blog and the three web 2 sites mentioned above and create a new RSS mix. Just add the four feeds to the box and then click Create!

#5 You will get both an RSS feed and an html page. This is great. More potential link juice.

#6. Ping your html page and RSS feed naming the title the keyword you are optimizing for.

#7. Now bookmark your html page created through RSSMix making sure you add your keyword title and tags before bookmarking.

The above strategy is simply a process you can get into when you update your blog. It’s not the be all and end all of promotion. Creating a variety of links to your site is one of the keys to getting good treatment within the search engines and in time, it will it will be a key to making money off blogs.

Okay, promotions over, here’s a very simple strategy to get you blog posts noticed quickly.

#1. Bookmark your post with Onlywire. Onlywire is a service which offers a free level and posts to up to 41 bookmarking sites. You’ll need to sign up for each one and this can take a couple of hours but once you do, it’s easy to use.

#2. Create a Twitter account and once set up, tweet your post.

#3. Set up a Stumbleupon account and stumble your blog post.

#4. Create a Clipmarks account and clip a couple of paragraphs of your post.

#5. Bookmark each of your Twitter, Stumbleupon and Clipmarks pages.

#6. Tweet your Stumbleupon and Clipmarks entries.

The above is pretty simple and while some of the services I mention may seem foreign to you it doesn’t take long to learn how to use them and understand them. This strategy is excellent for getting initial interest going and builds links back to both your blog and the Web 2 sites you are using.

The next part of this strategy will be outlined in our next post and involves making use of the RSS feeds. Making money off blogging takes work and it gets down to becoming respected within your niche. Stay tuned for the next phase.

The majority of people I speak with on a daily basis understand the power of both systems to attract people into their prospect funnel but many simply get stuck when they are there and how to go to the next step. Do you simply contact them and ask them to join your opportunity? No you don’t.

Think how they got there in the first place. Something attracted them and it’s more than likely the message they read, saw or heard. You more than likely gave them something of value. Those who are successful at internet network marketing think outside the box and get it right away. The following four approaches to your list about your primary business will make a huge difference to how quickly you develop the relationship you want with your list prospects.

#1.. Give or sell your prospects something but don’t leave them high and dry. In other words, thinking outside the box means following up with them soon after to offer your help in applying what you gave them or sold them. You always want to look for ways to connect with your list.

#2.. At least two thirds of the people you sign up through Renegade and Ty Tribble’s blog training will have a primary opportunity. One third won’t. Let your list know these numbers. You don’t want to drag people away from their main business. You want to appeal to those still looking for a business. Offer them something. #4.. Thinking further out the box, offer to work with three people one-on-one. Let your list know this is “in the trenches” stuff and you want serious people only. Also point out it’s just for those looking for primary business opportunity. This is a great way to connect with prospects on your list who need guidance those who take you up on your offer will be a strong chance of joining your primary business.
