It doesn’t matter how cute and fancy you get with your internet network marketing business the fact remains, unless you are consistently generating prospects then you will fail to build a business.

I know that’s not what you wanted to hear and from the emails I get it amazes me how many people are still looking for the magic push button system that will flood their inbox with tons of prospects. Remember, this is network marketing and it’s not supposed to be easy. If it was, everyone would be doing it and profiting.

The internet has definitely expanded the possibilities for prospecting and while I am successful online, I still like to brush up on my knowledge and stay informed of what works and what doesn’t. We mentioned Ty Tribble in our last post the the effectiveness of his MLM Blog Secrets course and Ty is one guy whose emails I always head to and read.

Another is Ann Sieg. It was only a few days ago when I was going through my list of resources that I came across one of her products sitting in a file “gathering dust.” It was the Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto and was the follow up to the 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing and The Renegade Network Marketer.

The Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto was released in 2009 and is a must read. Having a little spare time on my hands I decided to sit down and read it again and it still had the same effect on me as when I first read it. For sheer quality information and strategies on how to attract prospects without doing the hard sell that everyone hates then this is a must.

What is it about? In a nutshell, it’s about how to capitalize on “attraction marketing” yourself so you can never run out of true prospects for your business. We’re talking about qualified prospects; the ones who come to you and and won’t give you a mouth full of abuse in the process.

If haven’t read The Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto yet then do yourself a favor and grab a copy. It’s free and always has been and will make a huge difference to the way you approach your prospecting.

Facebook has been around for sometime now and with over 500 million users, it’s the social networking goliath of the internet. But it’s only been recently that Facebook has suddenly emerged as the fertile prospecting ground not just for internet network marketers, but those involved in any type of online business.

Systems designed to “game” the Facebook network are popping up like weeds in a garden bed and the simple fact is, most will struggle long term as they are found out and the rules of the game change.

The honest truth is, Facebook should be your prime target for prospecting in your internet network marketing business but forget the tricks and schemes, think good old fashioned networking and you will strike paydirt.

The secret to making Facebook work as a reliable prospecting tool for your network marketing business is consistency. How much time are you spending on your Facebook account. Here’s what won’t work…logging in every few days and just seeing what’s been posted on your wall or using it simply to play farm games with others or being negative.

Here’s what will work:

#1. Being consistent in your use of Facebook.

#2. Adding value-added comments and being encouraging to others.

#3. Going to your current network of friends and spending a little time on their pages, interacting with them, looking at their photos and again, making value-added and encouraging comments.

#4. Going through the friends of your friends and looking at their status, what they like and then assessing whether they would be a good fit to become a friend of yours.

#5. Set up a page on Facebook solely for your business and keeping business and pleasure separate.

#6. Developing relationships with your friends and when you have solidified these relationships and feel you are part of their community, then suggest they take a look at something you posted on your blog.

The key is to be consistent. Set minimum goals that you want to accomplish everyday on Facebook. Go in everyday and spend 10, 20 30 minutes or however long you set yourself but maintain it daily. Then after a period of time, you’ll notice trends developing and some things will work while others don’t. You can then scale up what works.

Improving the things that are working is the aim and you’ll only discover this by being a consistent, and value-added user.

Today’s network marketing tip will focus on what real action really is. If you get anything out of today’s post it’s that action can often come disguised in several forms but there really is only one type of action which counts – that which directly affects the bottom line in your business.

So my question to you is – are you a network marketer yet? You see, simply joining a business and then tip toeing around what really counts and that’s putting people in your business, does not mean you have a home business.

In other words, there is a difference between being a consumer of information and a real, honest to goodness business builder. And the truth is, most people fall into the category of being consumers of information.

Network Marketing Tip

This problem has become particularly evident in the internet network marketing arena. Too many people are losing focus and going after the so called quick fix solutions. When you come online for the first time it’s almost like traveling than the famous Vegas strip for the first time. The bright lights and the opportunities are everywhere.

There are so many make money fast promises and latest lead generation tactics screaming at you that it’s at first like being a kid in a candy store…you want it all. But the truth is, it’s just a distraction and most fall for it. The result is, several months down the track their credit cards are looking bruised and battered with nothing to show for the money they’ve spent. Don’t worry, I’ve been there.

The key is focus. We’ve spoken about it many times on this site. Find a learning vehicle and stick to it. What happens when you start buying every solution-laded promise that is being offered is you end up with a hard drive full of stuff you never use. It just sits there because when you’ve bought one, another surfaces the next day and you buy that too. It’s a vicious cycle and you need to get off it.

So after going online looking for solutions to building your network marketing business you end up becoming a consumer – a consumer of products you don’t need. And it’s easy to get caught up in a false impression that you’re taking action. But it’s false action.

The solution?

Find an environment you can focus your energy on such as Renegade Professional. Get back to the basics of what it really takes to build a network marketing business…creating relationships. Ann Sieg teaches it in The Renegade Network Marketer yet many people who are going down the internet network marketing route seem to be doing spo with blinkers on. That is, they are looking at it as some type of cop out so they don’t need to speak with their prospects.

Are You Over Doing The Automation Thing?

It’s a fact that automation in today’s network marketing world has given us the chance to build our businesses much quicker that simply spending all your time prospecting people one at a time off line.

I will tackle another issue which has surfaced in my next post about whether you should completely ignore offline prospecting but for now, be warned – if you think you can completely automate your network marketing business and expect to grow it with a solid foundation think again. It will surely come crumbling down around you!

If you’ve read Ann Sieg’s attraction marketing blueprint then read it again. If you haven’t, then you need to get yourself a copy of The Renegade Network Marketer.

Yes, it lays out a blueprint for attracting prospects to you by using the power and the far reaching effects of the internet but this doesn’t mean you don’t have to have any contact with your prospects. And Sieg makes strong reference to this in the book.

You do and without this interaction then you’re just another blip on the internet network marketing radar without a face or a voice. Sure you’ve got them into your sales funnel and may have provided them with some information for free but unless you’re communicating with them via email, phone, Skype or any other means, then the chances they’ll quit your business are just as high as someone who brings a prospect into a business offline and expects them to run with it.

Won’t happen! Relationship marketing relies on creating a bond between you and your people and the best way to do this is to make yourself available to them, preferably by phone but at least by email. Start doing this and watch your internet network marketing business take root and thrive!

Online Sales To Rise Despite The Recession

For those in a network marketing business for example, running an internet network marketing business makes good sense. Online sales is tipped to continue to grow during 2009 by more than 10 per cent. This means while people are tightening their belts offline, the internet is again proving it is an economy all on it’s own.

And for those of you looking for prospects now is the time to act. The truth is, perfection never comes. It’s a big excuse used by many who get stuck in a scenario of paralysis analysis waiting for the conditions to be right before they start marketing. If this sounds a little harsh then it’s meant to because by waiting for everything to be perfect, the reality is, getting something out there is better than nothing at all.

Let’s take the tried and proven Pareto’s 80/20 rule. The fact is, the majority of promotions you create will not return you much at all. That’s the 80%. But 20% will return something and if you are only hitting your promotions in a timid fashion and treating it spamodically, then your chances of getting any return are pretty slim.

But by promoting consistently you are giving yourself the chance of getting results on a more consistent basis. Quantity in this case is better than quality and one of the secrets of internet network marketing success.

Here’s another example. Article marketing is a powerful way to promote your business. Submitting one article to directories may not get you too many results. Submit ten and at least two are likely to hit the sweet spot. Submit 100 and suddenly you’re likely to see at least 20 of them attract attention meaning a steady flow of prospects to your web proeprties. What about if you submit 100 articles to directories? You do the maths.

Sure, quality is important and you should always strive to achieve it but many times it’s just not possible. The message here is market and promote and do it often. If you are building a site and don’t think it’s perfect don’t worry, publish it and allow it to gain traction in the search engines. People visiting it won’t know you think it’s not perfect.

Your internet network marketing business is like a hungry animal – it needs to be fed constantly and the best fodder you can give it is consistent marketing.

Just like every network marketer who has a company generated website needs to find a way to stand out from the crowd so too does an internet network marketer who is using the Renegade system of attraction marketing and pre-selling. It’s just not enough to slap up a website and a few web 2 properties and expect the traffic to start flowing to them.

Here’s the thing…now that there is a wave of networkers turning to the internet to attract prospects into their business funnel this means the need to distinguish yourself from everyone else needs to be stepped up a notch.

Yes it’s great that you’re giving your visitors the information they need to be able to move their business forward but it gets to a stage where nearly everyone else will be doing the same thing. If you’re promoting nutrition for example then visitors will be looking for informative articles on how nutrition plays a major part in one’s health. There’s nothing new there.

But what if you went the extra five per cent and wrote something that would provoke some thought and discussion? What if you commented on something within reason and gave your thoughts about it? Do you think this would suddenly stand you out as not just another internet network marketing information provider?

How about adding a headline occasionally that will force the reader to take a look at your article? Believe it or not, you are now in the web publishing business and whether you like it or not, as a voice online, you will develop a following and if you just publish stuff that’s just “run of the mill”, eventually your readers will turn off and see you as just another online marketer with the same views as everyone else.

But if you can stir the emotions in your readers and get them to make comments on your articles, then you’re on the right track in stepping above the crowd in your internet network marketing business and not being just another marketer. But just remember to be able to back up any comments and claims you make before making them.

One of the benefits of the Renegade system training is the loud message of branding yourself rather than your company. It’s one of the reasons company generated websites are little more than token offerings in network marketing because everyone gets the same site. There is little chance of getting them ranked and almost no chance that anyone will find them online.

That’s why it’s vital you create your own websites. Your own site, blogs and web 2 properties. By doing this, you immediately stand above most other networkers simply because you are promoting yourself rather than the company. Your own property when properly seo’d will have a greater chance of being found in the search indexes and that means prospects coming into your business funnel.

You’re no longer just one of the crowd but you become your own identity and the truth is, in most cases, prospects make the decision to join a networking business based on the person that takes them through the initial introductory period. In fact, this is so powerful it cannot be understated.

So remember to invest in yourself and that you are basically on trial when a prospect enters your business funnel. You are the one under the spotlight and if you can make a big enough impression then you’ll be surprised at how less frequently you’ll need to use that dreaded sales pitch.

The options are endless or they appear to be. The opportunities to start a home business and make money online are everywhere you look online. It’s like traveling down the main strip of Las Vegas and being tempted by a multitude of neon signs. Where do you look and how do you choose?

For those of you looking for an internet network marketing business then you need to establish between a good and mediocre opportunity. Here’s a fact – the network marketing business is going through some type of a revolution at the present time with many going online after recognizing the enormous prospecting opportunities available to them.

The problem with someone fresh on the scene for the first time is trying to figure out if an opportunity presented to them is all it’s being promoted as. Here’s the point we want to make in this article.

You need to distinguish between those opportunities which just sell the dream and those which sell both the dream and the how to. Think about this for a moment. If you are drawn into an opportunity because you were taken with what it can give you that’s great. There’s even a suggestion that this suits information sellers because it gives them the opportunity to sell another piece of the puzzle a little later down the track and then again and again and again. In an inter network marketing business you want to be making sure that you have a system to plug into and this should include lots of training on how to both build web properties and market them.

One of the attraction marketing principles Ann Sieg teaches in the Renegade System training is to follow up with your prospects, not once, not twice but until such time as it takes to earn their trust. The fact is, when someone responds to your promotion and places themselves in your business funnel they will do so with varying degrees of suspicion and doubt.

It’s one of the reasons the majority of sales are never made on the first or second calls. The truth is, most sales, up to 80% are made between the 4th and 7th calls and this is something you need to take particular note of.

It also applies to internet network marketing. A prospect isn’t going to join your business on your first contact. This is why the pre-sell angle is so important. Both Ann Sieg and Ken Evoy of Site Build It are great exponents of pre-sellingand when you understand how powerful it is when done right you’ll wonder why it’s taken so long for you to apply it.

Basically, a prospect is putting you on trial when they first ask for information. If you hit them with a sales pitch first up it’s usually “so long” or “see you later.” Too many networkers abandon their prospects after one or two contacts. Many use the argument that they are just not interested but unless one is told not to contact someone again or a prospect uses the unsubscribe option then they are still very much live.

You should have a system in place. A series of messages spaced over time in which you keep in touch with prospects. These messages should be weighted with training and educational tips and the occasional resource area someone can go for information on a particular topic. Under no circumstances should you be hitting them with sales pitches in the first few contacts.

They know you’re an internet network marketer and you’ve got to prove to them you have what it takes to be able to move them forward when they are ready to “rock and roll” in the business. So are you leaving a lot of money on the table?
