What are the social media trends for network marketing in 2012? Well, if you are not yet using social media as part of your strategy to build your prospect list then you are missing out big time. While it’s hard to make predictions of how social media trends will affect network marketing the indications are that you need to be using it.

For example, Facebook is spoken a lot of; some people are suggesting to me that the Facebook craze will burn out and people will get tired of it. I’m hear to tell you that you need to get off this thinking because the truth is, Facebook hasn’t even scratched the surface when it comes to having people from social to business backgrounds use it’s service.

In fact, the aim is to make Facebook your existence away from your existence. Does that make sense? In other words, Facebook is where many people will virtually be living. And according to a report at techcrunch.com they are building an online destination that people will never have to leave.

Does that scare you or get you excited? Are you still thinking should I use Facebook for network marketing? The report looks at some of the key social media trends for 2012 and what areas you need to be concentrating on. Read this several times and let it sink in. This could be the most important time you spend on your computer this week.

In 2011, social media had its share of growing pains. Large brands and corporations took to social media in force to try to find footing in this expanding medium. Some brands found success, while others found peril and new PR nightmares. One person who has helped brands navigate the proverbial social media minefield is Amy Jo Martin. She is the founder of Digital Royalty, a social media firm that has set itself apart by helping A-listers find their social media voice.

Amy works with people like Dana White of the UFC, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson of acting/WWE fame and brands like Nike and Fox Sports (and now Joel Stein). Her specialty is working with organizations or individuals and making them look good online. Since the online world is in perpetual flux, I wanted to get Amy’s take on the social media landscape for 2012.

Here were a few key trends Amy said we should look out for in 2012:…..

Click here to visit the original source of this post

How important is social media in your business? Are you using it? Are you still trying to figure out how to use it? We will be delving into this a little more soon so stay tuned. But for now, look at platforms such as Facebook and study how other people are using it for business growth and expansion. You’ll notice the successful ones aren’t really selling…they are teaching and sharing.

This is a concept that will take your business to the next level. Ann Sieg has been teaching it for years. The Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto is the bible when it comes to selling through teaching and sharing.

So, is network marketing ethical? This is a question we see a lot come across our desk and the answer is a resounding yes. But are some of the motives of some people in network marketing considered ethical? That is probably what the question should be.

I thought long and hard about doing this post but after a couple of incidents I recently became aware of within my sphere of influence, I needed to look at the ethics of some network marketing.

As a business model, network marketing is a brilliant concept but like any business, endeavor or activity, there are going to be those who exploit it to their advantage. For example, a very good friend of mine was devastated recently to learn her top producer has shifted his entire business from hers to take advantage of an offer from an upline member to service some of his potential stars in a leg he is trying to get maxed out.

To be honest, I was flabbergasted to learn this and just advised her to let her company know what was going on and also alert the governing body of network marketing to what had happened. She is so disgusted with it that she is thinking long and hard about getting out completely. That’s her decision to make.

So is it network marketing’s fault? No it’s not. It’s the individual “bad eggs” within an organization that can give the industry a “black eye”.

The following video looks at the question of “is network marketing an ethical business?” The first point made is an excellent one; “network marketing is ethical depending on ones motives and methods”. That just about sums it up.

So, how about you; do you think network marketing is ethical? Why not leave a comment and let us know your thoughts. This is an argument that has raged since network marketing first began.

If you are “sitting on the fence” about joining the industry based on your doubts about the business model being ethical then we are here to tell you don’t. As far as we are concerned, it is. But as mentioned above, those who choose to impose their own motives and methods to gain an edge unethically are what gives it a bad name. Play by the rules and treat others as you would like to be treated. What do you think?

Last post, we looked at how to be more productive in your network marketing business and the response was excellent. People were looking for something to “get their teeth” into for the New Year. Today, how about how to be more successful in your network marketing business?

Productive and successful in that phrase could be taken as meaning the same thing and in a way, they are. But to me, being successful means making a call to a prospect, or sharing your information with others; in other words, success to me is measured in taking action.

And taking action on the information and training you get rather than letting it build up on your hard drive or on your bookshelf is a success step many, in fact, most fail to take. There are a lot of “junkies” out there who simply love to consume information and training but don’t ever act on it. That’s fine and everyone will be ready to move in their own time.

But the reality is, these folks won’t ever act because of things such as:

- procrastination
- information overload
- they want everything to be perfect before they start

Love this quote and this is something you can send to your prospects who are having trouble getting going; even making a phone call:

“When there is a start to be made, don’t step over! Start where you are…Edgar Cayce”

Ann Sieg has recently posted a training article called “Here’s How To Structure Mini 30 Day Bursts Of Activity To Focus Your Efforts Into An Income Producing Machine”. It’s as it implies…creating 30 day bursts of activity. You’ll see a lot of these being done right now by people energized by a new year but the truth is, why stop at one 30 day burst? Why not do one each month? Imagine how your business would look at the end of the year?

Click The Image To Visit The Rest Of This Post…

What do you think? Are you up for it? Remember, being successful is taking action on something that will improve your current situation. Being productive means getting into the zone and using your time wisely to increase your bottom line.

Let me know how you are doing. Take action.

And remember, don’t forget to download your free copy of Ann Sieg’s brilliant training guide, The Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto. Click here.

Are there really any easy steps to get started online for network marketers? Is there a solid blueprint that any network marketer looking at ways to make money online can follow and be successful with?

The truth is, there are quite a few but the problem with most of them is that they don’t come all inclusive. In other words, you get the piece of the puzzle in one area and then need to fork out more dollars to get the next piece. That is one of the annoying aspects of trying to build an online business.

But if you are a network marketer, you need to have an online presence at some stage, whether it’s today or sometime in the future. I really encourage you to start a blog. It’s easy. And it’s even easier with Ty’s MLM Blog Secrets course. I actually was in the process of putting a course together before MLM Blog Secrets came along; in fact, had started it but put it on hold when Ty released his. I couldn’t fault it.

As I’ve mentioned before, Ty Tribble is someone I listen to and although I am not connected with him in any way, he gives out a lot of information aim squarely at helping people attract leads into their network marketing business.

One of the things I have been saying all along, ever since attraction marketing became a buzz term five years ago, is that you cannot hope to go wholly and solely online and hope to build a sustainable business. You need to find a happy medium between online and offline. Ty Tribble says the same thing and while I took a little heat on it I never waivered from my thinking.

Network Marketing is all about creating relationships and if you think you can attract people into your business online and never have to talk to anyone then you are kidding yourself. Your business will crumble at some stage. There has to be an interaction between you and your prospect…that’s what network marketing is all about.

Anyways, Ty did a 30 minute webinar a little while ago and he outlines five simple steps to getting started online. He mentions some paid products in the video and seriously, ignore them if you have to. I have listed the links to some of the resources he mentions below. But as far as a free information webinar is concerned, they don’t come much better than this.

As a network marketer, how important is your Facebook profile? In a couple of words; extremely important. In fact, get your profile wrong and you jeopardize your chances of creating both interest and respect.

As a network marketer, how important is your Facebook profile? In a couple of words; extremely important. In fact, get your profile wrong and you jeopardize your chances of creating both interest and respect.

As a network marketer, branding is crucial when it comes to using social media and how you come across to people is going to have a big bearing on how many people take an interest in what you have to offer.

In the dating scene, profiles are the key to attracting people into your life you want to meet. In fact, in many cases, the profile is the make or break reason why someone will contact you or be attracted to you. It’s the same in creating interest in a network marketing business.

A recent report posted at mashable.com revealed the results of a study which showed how people looked at your Facebook profile, or any profile for that matter posted on social media sites. The results are interesting and you can use this information to your advantage.

In a nutshell, here are the four most important aspects of a profile that get attention:

- profile pictures
– job titles
– the people you know listed in the thumb nails
– prominent content

That’s just a quick summary but the profile picture is listed on top and that makes sense. It’s like window shopping; first impressions make all the difference. For branding purposes, it’s you people want to see, not a cartoon image or something way over the top.

Anyways, check out the images which revealed what the eye tracking study showed. This is pretty solid stuff if you are thinking of making an impression on potential prospects to your business through social media.

When potential dates, employers and friends glance at your online social profiles, what do they see? EyeTrackShop, a startup that runs eye-tracking studies for advertisers, helped Mashable find out by applying its technology to the profile pages of popular social networks.

The study used the webcams of 30 participants to record their eye movements as they were shown profile pages from Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube, Klout, Reddit, Digg, Tumblr, Twitter, StumbleUpon and Pinterest at 10-second intervals. What participants looked at on each page and in what order is recorded in the images below.

It’s not a perfect study. Thirty is a small sample size, and what draws attention on a profile likely varies depending on the content displayed. But we’ve hazarded making a few observations:…..

Click here to visit the original source of this post

So, what did you think? Is that information you can use to advantage in your business? Are you using social media to attract attention? Please feel free to comment and add a tip or two of your own if you are already using this stuff to attract prospects.

So, what are the keys to succeeding long term. If we had those keys from the moment we were able to understand how important it was in life to create wealth in all areas of our lives we wouldn’t be searching for answers.

But most of us don’t get it until later in life; not until we’ve been weather-beaten to a point where we decide it’s too late to do anything about it or we get the inspiration to make something of what we learn and make a late rush to success.

We’ve been talking about how most of us self-sabotage ourselves either through being comfortable when we reach a minor goal or being afraid to have success.

In network marketing, the key to reaching the high income levels where you feel you’ve created an income safety net that will sustain you for a lifetime takes “pushing the boundaries” all the way. Most will give up after a certain point; mainly because we’ve been conditioned to give up. People have patterns and the truth is, it’s very hard to change those patterns.

But to change that pattern takes some work and it won’t happen overnight. Well, one of the people I listen to a lot online and consider him somewhat of a mentor is Harlan Kilstein. Recently, Harlan did a webinar with us and talked about how people hit a personal plateau and then give up. Among the personality types he talks about are the:

- the dabbler
- the obsessive
- the hacker
- the master

I guaranteed each and every one of you is one of those personality types mentioned above. The keys to long term success can be attained if you understand what personality type you are and what you need to do to get out of the pattern you’re in.

The good news is that Harlan has posted the webinar at You Tube and I’ve posted it below for you. If you are at all serious about improving your chances of breaking out of the current pattern of self-sabotage you’re in and want to hit the master level and be like those people you want to be like in your company who are successful, then spend a hour and watch this presentation. And share it with people you care about.

What do you think? Did you see yourself in one of those first three personality types? Scary isn’t it. I saw a bit of myself in each one of those. I need to get to the master level and think I can without too many problems now. How about you? Love to hear your feedback.

So, how can Linkedin help your business? Actually, can Linkedin help your network marketing business? The answer to the second question is a resounding yes but despite a lot of the fanfare Linkedin has been receiving, especially this year, it’s still regarded as the “dark horse” of social media.

Why is that?

Well, people just don’t know how to use it properly as a business building tool. The truth is, there is very little in the way of training courses in how to use Linkedin for business growth and for this reason, people will say things like “yes, wow, Linkedin is amazing” and then do nothing. That’s because they don’t know how to use it.

So I looked around and came up with a basic course on how to use Linkedin for business. Many now consider Linkedin even more promising as a business building tool than Facebook if only they could figure out how to use it. For example, Linkedin has nearly 140 million users with about four in five of them aged 25 or over and their average household income is just over 100k. Those are pretty impressive stats and for a network marketer looking for serious business builders, then it’s a prime prospecting target.

Here’s a basic boot camp training of how to use Linkedin which should get you off to a good start. The first thing you need to be able to benefit from it is to get in the game initially. This will help immensely.

LinkedIn is the proverbial dark horse of social media: we all know it’s there, but few of us use it to its full potential.

With just a little bit of effort you will see how the powerful social site can help you market yourself and your business far more than you imagined.

With help from the LinkedIn guru himself, Lewis Howes, we have enrolled you in our basic LinkedIn boot camp training to give you the fundamental tools necessary to use the site for all your business and personal marketing needs…..

There is a lot more to using Linkedin creatively and effectively to canvass potential prospects and we will bring you more in due course. But remember, don’t simply join the site and start blasting sales messages to everyone. These are professionals who need to get to know and trust you first. Same attraction marketing rules apply. Don’t forget that.

Speaking of attraction marketing; have you downloaded Ann Sieg’s The Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto yet? Download it today and get a head start on 99% of network marketers not using the principles of attraction marketing.

So, how to use Facebook to attract leads? We’ve provided plenty of great tips on how to use social media to attract leads and today we have three more than if applied, can make all the difference to how you are perceived out there in the big wide world of social media.

I’m still seeing it; people using platforms like Facebook and Twitter to sell and sell only. It’s something that continues to baffle me but the truth is, that’s the way they are being taught. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; the key on how to attract leads on Facebook is to be a sharer of information, become a resource an to respond to people.

There’s a teaching element that Ann Sieg teaches in The Attraction Marketers Manifesto that’s so important and it’s essential you use this on social media platforms such as Facebook.

So I was going to record a video on this but ran across a super post at socialmediaexaminer.com. This is a site that has a lot of great tips and tricks on how to get traffic to your websites and how to use social media to attract leads, prospects and buyers.

Anyways, they posted recently about how to use Facebook to boost interaction with fans. Make note of that word interaction; it’s so important. Get your fans interacting with you and in combination with what you learn in The Attraction Marketers Manifesto, it’s almost a case of “write your own ticket”. But that’s the stage you need to be at and the reality is, it’s not that difficult.

Despite the level of connection you think you have with your fans on Facebook, many still express pleasant surprise when you respond to them personally on the social network.

Use fan names when you can, and respond one-on-one to the comments they make. This proves to fans you are listening and are receptive to their commentary and feedback, making it more likely that they will post in the future.

Moreover, invite conversation by asking your fans’ opinions on topics, or asking them to tell you what sorts of content they’d appreciate.

Everybody likes being asked, and fans feel extra-appreciated when you fulfill these desires—so don’t ask them for input you never intend to use or incorporate.

In the example below, Time Warner Cable demonstrates an inconsistent response strategy toward different users. While “Sharon” got her request attended to by the page administrator, “Regina” reports frustration that her posts are being removed instead of replied to, indicating that she had posted additional comments earlier than the final post visible in the thread.

If your brand strategy is to be a resource to all fans, it is important that you treat all fan comments in the same way by responding to all of them, no matter the sentiment…..

Click here to visit the original source of this post

Which of the tips resonated with you? We hope all of them did. Actually, the “Become A Resource” tip is priceless. It simply means you are the go-to person and when it comes to building a brand, it’s like “hitting a home run”. That’s how to use Facebook to attract leads.

Meanwhile, we mentioned The Attraction Marketers Manifesto’s role in using social media. Teaching in business to attract leads, prospects and sales is the reason many people become successful. Applying it to your networking business will make all the difference if you are getting lots of leads but losing them just as easily. Might be time to put the sales pitch away and give them the teaching pitch.

One of the things I like to do is listen to the big players in the network marketing business no matter what company they represent, just for some pearls of wisdom. For example, there was a time when people wanted to know how to make $100k a year. Now people want to know how to make $100k a month.

The problem with network marketing is that while people do make this kind of money, for most it’s short-lived. Why? Because there are just too many companies that are here today and gone tomorrow. Longevity in this business for a network marketing company is something special. Those that survive are doing something right.

Mark Yarnell is one of those big players in this industry I like to listen to. No, I have never been involved in a business with him. He just “shoots from the hip” and is one of those guys who keeps you in reality.

One of my favorite tips from Mark Yarnell is this…When you are looking for a network marketing company would you ask your mother to join it? Is this the type of company you would associate your mother with? He talks and write about core values which is something I resonate with. In other words, your core values need to match the company you are looking at.

We’ve spoken about sabotaging ourselves in recent weeks and it’s something I know too well; I’ve done it in a big way. Yarnell also talks about it this presentation. He looks at it from a slightly different perspective. He looks at it from the angle of if you do something just for the money without lining up your core values then at some stage, that sabotage effect will take over.

The following video is long; it’s over 90 minutes but for sheer value and education it’s worth watching. In fact, you probably don’t need to listen to all of it because he runs through his 5 tips to reach a 100k a month in network marketing in the first half of the presentation. Just put it on and continue doing something else. Make it your success listening for the day.

Mark Yarnell has been around a long time and one of the main reasons you need to listen to what he says in applying success tips to your business is because he talks and swaps notes with other big players in the industry. His time with Success Magazine meant he met and wrote about the biggest earners and most successful players in network marketing.

Leave your feedback and your thoughts on the tips presented in this presentation. Do you agree with them or not? Do you have tips to add or do you want to expand on what Yarnell says. If so, don’t be shy and leave a comment.

Meanwhile, have you downloaded Ann Sieg’s Attraction marketer’s Manifesto yet? It’s free and can change your life. I can never understand why Ann has made this free but I guess it has to do with what she teaches. And teaching instead of selling is key in this business if you have been following the attraction marketing model.

I intended to continue the current theme of recent posts on how to stop sabotaging yourself when close to success but got an email from a reader who simply asked “how can social media help my network marketing business”. I thought I would answer that today as it’s a very topical subject with network marketers right now.

Social media is like any other platform for getting your brand across to potential networking affiliates. It should form part of your marketing strategy for sharing information and helping others solve problems. Did you notice I didn’t say sell stuff to people?

Using social media as a platform merely to sell to people will soon get you a reputation as a “snake oil salesman” and people will quickly tune out. People on social media sites don’t like to be sold to. Well, you may be asking if that’s true then why is it so popular for network marketers?

Well, the truth is, only a small percentage of network marketers are actually doing well using social media. The majority are bombing out big time.

Why?

For the reason I just mentioned. They are going on platforms like Facebook and selling. It’s not going to work. But did you notice above I used the term “sharing”. If you did then you have figured out the key to making social media work for network marketing. It’s all about sharing. It’s all about gaining trust. And it’s all about becoming known as somewhat of an expert in whatever it is you are sharing. Once you reach this stage, things will start to happen; people will listen to recommendations.

Doesn’t this sound a little like Ann Sieg’s attraction marketing principles? Yes it does and it’s the same thing. Teaching and sharing on social media will get you much more attention than if you simply went on and blasted the latest offer you have.

I ran across an article at entrepreneur.com today from small business expert Gail Goodman who posted seven great tips creating successful holiday marketing campaigns. The information relates to using social media and I wanted to share it with you. Much of it is what we’ve just discussed.

It’s no longer a question of either-or. Savvy entrepreneurs know that both email and social media are important parts of a successful marketing strategy. Using the right tools to get the right message to the right audience is critical over the holidays, when businesses and organizations are pulling out all the stops to capture consumers’ attention and dollars.

So how can you engage customers when competition is so fierce? Here’s some good news for small businesses on a budget: Social media extends the life and reach of your email marketing campaigns. It empowers marketers to better engage their audiences, and gives customers the means to share content and offers with their networks. If email gets your message heard, then social media spreads the message even farther.

Here’s how to extend your email marketing reach and add some social spice to your holiday campaigns. Before you start spreading the cheer, keep these seven tips in mind…..

Click here to visit the original source of this post

It’s interesting stuff and the message about using social media successfully is the same. Just be prepared to build your credibility first before hitting people up for the sale.

Meanwhile, I mentioned Ann Sieg’s attraction marketing above and if you haven’t got a copy of her classic training resource The Attraction Marketer’s Manifesto then you need to download it today. What we’ve discussed in this post will become so much clearer. It’s a short read and it’s free.
