One of the most open ended questions that comes across my desk on a daily basis is “how to succeed in network marketing?”

I’m sure the hardened network marketers among us know the real answer to that but it’s interesting to take a look at the real reason people fail in this business. It’s remarkable isn’t it – network marketing is the best opportunity going around for the average person to build an income base that would make those working in the most respected professions cringe.

For one time intensity and effort, you can virtually set yourself and your family up for life financially. So why do more than 90% of people who get into network marketing quit their business?

The short answer is…REJECTION!

Network Marketing Success Tips

Rejection is the biggest killer in this business. People hate to hear the word no. Hearing no makes most feel like a failure. I don’t want to get into some of the best known cases of successful people battling through endless failure before finding success because you’ve no doubt heard these stories dozens of times.

But the one thing you need to remember most of the time when people say no to your network marketing business opportunity is that it’s not personal. In the majority of cases they are not saying no to you but no to the business. And there is a variety of reasons why. But most take it personally. It’s like an attack on their character and they quickly withdraw into their shells and make their way to the exit door.

You’ve got to remember this – when someone is saying no to you or they are running your opportunity down step out of your body for a few seconds and get this ingrained into your psyche:

People are creatures of emotion and not creatures of logic!

Look at the person who is rejecting your opportunity. Who are they and what do they do? Are they qualified to even pass judgment on what you’re offering them without having tried it. Would you take advice from someone in the teaching profession as an example on what it takes to create financial independence?

You see, the most common reaction from a prospect is “this thing doesn’t work – it’s one of those…” and they dismiss it sight unseen. That’s okay and you move on. They haven’t rejected you but the opportunity. The last thing you want to do is stand there and try to convince them. Even if you got them to join the chances are pretty strong they would cause you nothing but problems and quit early.

How to succeed in network marketing requires becoming numb to rejection. Never take it personally. The success moments are brief and few and far between but each one could set you up for a lifetime of financial independence.
