In a nutshell, it was focus. Recently a well know internet marketer described the majority of online marketers as suffering from the pinball effect. What’s that. Simply put, it’s bouncing around from product to product, buying the latest gadget or ebook in the hope that it will be the catalyst to finally making it big on the internet.

But the truth is, doing this only serves to tighten the noose around a person’s neck and drives them deeper and deeper into that black hole called paralysis analysis. What happens is, someone buys a product and sticks with it for a week. Then they get an email from another marketer telling them they’ve found the answer to making money online. So they buy that. Then they get another email promising them the same and they buy that.

Can you see what’s happening here. Before too long, they have a hard drive full of stuff that they’ve never used and worse still, they are thousands of dollars in the hole with nothing to show for it.

So what’s the answer? Focus. You see, I was in that place three years ago and in a nine month period which I’ll never forget, I had spent close to $60K on software, ebooks and training programs. Now the truth is, many of these products were good and would have allowed me to achieve what they promised. But I was in a get rich quick zone and kept looking for the answer to making money quickly. It never came.

Then I stumbled across a book called “5 Bucks A Day.” The title didn’t exactly promise overnight riches but that wasn’t the aim of the book. It’s author Dennis Becker was in a similar position to myself before discovering the true secret to creating wealth and it revolved around focussing on one project at a time. “5 Bucks A Day” was first released in 2006 and has since become a classic and one of the most important books ever written in internet marketing.

It allowed me to turn my fortunes around by applying some simple tecniques to the way I was running my business and before too long, the paralysis analysis had disappeared and the focus was well and truly the dominant factor in growing my business.
